Track Information ‘20-’21

Please take the time and read through ALL of the information listed below.  This 
is the first after school activity that we are able to hold at Clark Lane this year.  Due to COVID-19, there are a lot of very important protocols that must be followed at all times. Any student who refuses to follow the guidelines and protocols will not be able to participate. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out at any time to any of us.  Email is the easiest way to get in touch with us.  

CLMS Track Coaches


  1. Locker rooms will be available for practices on a limited basis.  If possible, athletes should try and wear their practice clothes and sneakers to school.
  2. Athletes are responsible for providing their own mask.  Masks must be worn at all times with the exception of when they are actively competing. 
  3. Athletes are responsible for providing their own water. Water bottle filling stations are available at Clark Lane.  They may NOT be available at tracks during meets. Plan accordingly. 
  4. The season runs from approximately April 5th-May 27th. 
  5. Calendars and other important information will be routinely updated in our Google Classroom. It is your responsibility as an athlete to check the Google Classroom.  
  6. As a Student-Athlete, you are expected to maintain good grades, attendance, and behavior. 


  1. Held Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 2:45-3:45 at Clark Lane. 
  2. Athletes should report immediately to the cafeteria when parent pick up/walkers are called for their grade level during dismissal. 
  3. Once in the cafeteria, students should choose a seat, log on to a device and complete the daily digital screening posted in the Google Classroom. This is required in order to participate in practices or meets.
  4. Students who need to use the locker room will be sent in groups of 6. Locker rooms will be monitored by coaches to ensure proper social distancing protocols are followed. 
  5. Parent pick up at 3:45 is REQUIRED. There are no late buses this year. Athletes should be picked up by the athletic fields. 
  6. In case of inclement weather, practice will be cancelled.  LISTEN for an announcement at school or check our Google Classroom. 


We will have approximately SIX meets, three at home and three at various locations. 

Athletes will follow the same dismissal procedure, reporting to the cafeteria to complete the digital screening and use the locker room on days we have track meets. 

For home meets: 

  • Students will take a bus from Clark Lane to Waterford High School 
  • Home meets start at approximately 3:45-4pm and will end approximately between 5:30-6. 
  • Spectators are allowed at home meets and must follow all social distancing guidelines. 
  • Please DO NOT Park in the bus lot. 
  • Athletes must have a ride home from Waterford High School upon the conclusion of the meet. 

For away meets: 

  • Students will take a bus from Clark Lane to our away destination 
  • Away meets start at approximately 3:45-4pm and will end approximately between 5:30-6. 
  • Spectators are allowed at away meets and must follow all social distancing guidelines and rules of the host school. 
  • At the conclusion of the meet, athletes will ride the bus back to Clark Lane and will need a ride home from Clark Lane. 

If you do not wish to have your athlete ride the bus, you must fill out the Travel Release Form and submit it to Miss Sullivan a minimum of 12 hours prior to the meet. If you wish to transport your child to/from all meets, you may submit one travel release form at the beginning of the season with all of the appropriate dates listed. 



  • Coaches will be equipped with cleaning supplies and hand sanitizer. 
  • If an athlete indicates a Covid-19 symptom, the coaching staff must notify school personnel, the athlete will be removed from participation, self-isolate, and instructed to contact their primary care provider or other health-care professional. 
  • In the event that a student/athlete discloses that he/she has tested positive for COVID-19, administration and the local department of health will be immediately notified and contact tracing will begin. 
    • The SCHOOL NURSE  will be notified of a positive case at Clark Lane. 
    • The SCHOOL NURSE will make contact with the family to explain the Return to Play Progression which includes:
    • Written documentation of medical clearance from a Licensed Medical Provider (most cases will be pediatrician)


    • Clearance from a Cardiologist is recommended for moderate to severe COVID-19 symptoms

  • 14-day period prior to any return of a COVID-19 isolated (confirmed positive) student to athletics

  • Minimum 7 day progression for full return to competition 

  • Return on the 7th day if the athlete does not experience any symptoms of chest pain, palpitations, syncope, shortness of breath or exercise intolerance during the RTP progression. If these symptoms occur, athletes will stop exercise and inform their medical provider
